The FJC is excited to welcome Beatrice Sakala to the team. Beatrice is participating in the Community Solutions Program – a professional leadership development program for the best and brightest community leaders worldwide. Hailing from Katete, an Eastern Province of Zambia, Beatrice is one of 92 Fellows from 67 countries who have embarked on the four-month program.
Her goals while working with the advocates at the FJC is to gain experiences on how cases are managed, learn more about building partnerships with other service providers, and to share her experiences gained working as the sole social worker at St. Francis’ Hospital where she also volunteers her time at the St. Francis’ Gender Based Violence One Stop Center.
Upon completion of her time here at FJC, Beatrice will develop and present a community action project. Her project plans will focus on empowering, and building self-confidence for women who have experienced domestic violence. At home, Beatrice is also a mother of two- Hannah and Chawnazi, and wife of Mubanga who is a diagnostic radiographer.
